AWARD WINNING, 5* LUXURY, TISSINGTON FORD BARN, DERBYSHIRE. SLEEPS UP TO 12, Tissington, Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Peak District. Sleeps up to 12

Tissington Ford Barn is a Grade II listed stone barn conversion, located in the Peak National Park near to Ashbourne and Bakewell. Beautifully located with scenic walks and cycle path from its door step. Tissington Ford Barn is designed to give our guests elegance with comfort and has been recently furnished with a contemporary country-styled ambience. This is the perfect place to unwind after your sight seeing and walks with your family or friends.

THE POSSIBILITY OF HIRING OUR OWN HOT TUB, PRIVATE CHEF, COCKTAIL CLASS, MURDER MYSTERY NIGHT, BEAUTY & HAIR THERAPIST, OUTDOOR YOGA & KEEP FIT CLASSES, IS AVAILABLE TO OUR GUESTS TO CREATE THIER OWN UNIQUE PEAK DISTRICT BREAKAWAY AND CELEBRATION AT THE BARN!

Please email Sophie to talk about any of these in house services or about the various activities around the area such as a Spa day, clay pigeon shooting, Go Ape, quad biking, paint-balling, treasure hunts, gem-panning, water rafting and canoeing etc.

The Barn is adjacent to a footpath and stream which joins the High Peak, Tissington Trail and conveniently connects to Carsington Water (the famous Ellen McCarthur learnt to sail); offering our guests good walking and cycling opportunities from the holiday cottage.

There is so much to do, see, and explore in this area with some of the finest country stately homes in England to visit, such as: Chatsworth House - famous by the documentary series and also the much loved television series of Pride & Prejudice. Jane Austen fans will love the estate and gardens as much as the children! There is also the hauntingly enchanting Haddon Hall to visit which is a particular favourite of mine, where Jayne Eyre was screened from and are both an easy scenic car ride of 25 minutes away. Bakewell is a stunning Peak Park town and every Monday has a large busy market and various shops to explore. Bakewell is still open for business on a Sunday and also gives you a chance to wander along the River Derwent and feed the ducks and maybe take a bite of the real Bakewell Pudding!

If your love is for the sea, even in the middle of the countryside we can offer you Carsington Water as an alternative. A stunning setting just a couple of miles away you can do most water sports from or take a gentle walk around the area. Theme parks are readily available and the most famous in the area is Alton Towers only a 30-minute drive away and is set in stunning scenery. 20 minutes drive North through quiet lanes takes you to Gullivers Kingdom for the younger members of the group or The heights of Abraham exploring the caves at Matlock Bath.

The walks are endless and depending on your ability we have mountains to hills to valleys surrounding the Peak Park to explore. One of the most famous gentle walks is the Dovedales and is only a 5-minute drive away. Take a visit to Alstonefield or Hartington, Ilam and of course Tissington to see some of our local award-winning villages in the area.

The accommodation includes:
The Main Barn; Enter into a welcoming Kitchen and Dining area with country painted kitchen cupboards, and a table and bench to seat 12 persons.
