This wonderful, detached barn can be found on the border of the Peak District National Park in the Derbyshire village of Holymoorside. Stepping inside the barn you are welcomed by the hallway complete with space to hang your coats and kick off your walking boots. The charming open plan country cottage kitchen/dining room and living room provides everything you will need for a home from home, with large glass doors welcoming the outside area in. Upstairs, the cottage offers two bedrooms, one double bed and one with a single bed. Also, on the first floor you will find your shower room. The garden area has a patio with seating, perfect for warm summer evenings and dining al fresco. There is also an undercover area outside for drying clothes.
There are great walks all around, and the very best of the region is all within easy reach such as, Bakewell, Matlock and Matlock Bath all just a 20 minutes’ drive away, meaning there’s plenty to enjoy wherever you choose to go. Holymoorside is a small, rural village situated close to Chesterfield, on the edge of the Peak District National Park and within an easy driving distance of the well-known stunning Chatsworth House. This village is in peaceful countryside and has three churches and two pubs within a 5-minute walk, one which serves the award winning Peak Ales and the other serving good food. Just a 10-mile drive away is Bakewell, an attractive little market town retaining a delightful rural atmosphere and offering a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as frequent local farmers’ markets. There is also a 17th-century market hall in the town centre and a modern leisure centre with swimming pool. The nearby town of Chesterfield has much to offer visitors.
The town is famous for its 14th-century church with ‘crooked spire’, twisting curiously from its centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. Holymoorside is the perfect spot for a host of other attractions within easy reach and is an interesting base for a varied break in a fantastic location.
