The town of Ilkeston is just over three miles away, where you will find a selection of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants as well as a Victorian Museum, five golf courses within five miles from the cottage, perfect for golf enthusiasts and walks can be found though Victoria Park and along the River Erewash. Be sure to visit the 16th century Wollaton Hall, Gardens and Deer Park, which boasts acres of parkland, a natural history museum and a golf course, on your way to the university city of Nottingham. Here you can expect to find a wealth of entertainment, with world-class sport, amazing live performances, excellent nightlife and outstanding art venues, as well as fine dining experiences at Michelin star restaurants and shopping at unique independent stores. The friendly city of Derby boasts diverse and unique cuisine, excellent shopping and a wealth of arts, culture and heritage, its Cathedral Quarter is particularly popular, with its mix of cafés, restaurants and bars. From here, you can explore the Peak District National Park and its wonderful villages like Ashbourne, Matlock and Matlock Bath, all boasting remarkable architecture.
