This historic cottage offers everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday and village life in a quality home-from-home. It's in the middle of the most beautiful village in the Peak District among rolling hills and dales, steps from the river, pub, shop and tea room. There is a posh restaurant 3 minutes away and the shops and cafes of the stunning market town Bakewell are 5 minutes' drive distant.
The cottage has been recently renovated to retain the best historic features while providing all mod cons. The accommodation comprises:-
Entrance Hall: with a boot bench and plenty of coat hooks to store all your walking gear.
Lounge: large and sunny with wood stove and comfy leather sofa and chairs, coffee table and TV/Freesat/DVD stand. There is a large bookshelf containing maps, local guides, books, games, puzzles and DVDs for your use.
Kitchen: fully equipped with all crockery & utensils, oven & hob, microwave, washer/dryer, and plenty of storage space in the shaker-style cupboards. The dining table seats up to 6. All cleaning and washing up liquids, tablets and clothes/tea towels are provided.
Downstairs loo: handy toilet and basin plus cupboard with vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board.
Master Bedroom: large sunny high-ceilinged bedroom with window seat looking over village towards hills behind. Contains very comfortable king sized bed, comfy chairs, Victorian sandalwood dresser with drawers and mirror, wardrobe with full length mirror and drawer, bedside tables, alarm clock/radio, hair dryer, luggage rack. All linen is provided.
Twin Bedroom: has two single beds with view over gardens and park to hills behind village. Contains wardrobe & drawer, traditional clothes rack, bedside table. All linen is provided.
Bathroom: bright and airy, with full-sized bath with hand shower, shower over bath & shower screen, toilet, sink, shelves & cupboard, heated towel rail. Complimentary shampoo, body wash and all towels are provided.
Backyard: this is a small covered paved & gated area outside the back door, where there is room to store bikes and gear.
The hosts use this cottage themselves throughout the year and ensure everything is kept clean, efficient and super comfortable.
Located in Bakewell, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. Old House Museum and Eyam Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Bakewell Golf Club and Goyt Valley. Traveling with kids? Consider Bloomers Original Bakewell Puddings and Baked Well Pottery Painting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
