Nestled in the village of Doveridge in Derbyshire, is this delightful two-bedroom semi-detached cottage, Hops Cottage. Built in the early 1800s Hops Cottage is a lovely traditional, cosy, period cottage with some lower door frames, fireplace beam, flagstone and tiled floors. Enjoying a wonderful location with easy access to the Peak District National Park and close to Sudbury Hall and all the local amenities, Hops Cottage makes for a fantastic dwelling for couples or a family of four who are looking for their next adventure to Derbyshire. Step into the property, where you will find a well-equipped kitchen for rustling up tasty meals for your guests, utilising the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, along with a handy dishwasher for those fuss-free clean-ups! Continuing through to the hallway, you will find a spacious pantry which houses plenty of storage. Into the dining room which has a solid fuel cooker, then uncork a bottle of wine and settle down at the dining table for four to savour a delicious meal, as you plan your holidays itinerary. Kick-back and relax in the sitting room as the warmth of the solid fuel fire envelopes you, whilst you enjoy a family film night on the Smart TV. When sleep calls, take your pick from two well-presented bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, both perfect for catching your rest in. Awake from a leisurely slumber and indulge in a blissful soak in the bath or refreshing shower, before whipping up morning coffees ready to enjoy out in the large private garden. Pop your coat and boots on from the handy porch and make your way into the local village. The property rests in the heart of Doveridge, and a short walk will bring you to a well-stocked village shop for picking-up any last-minute essentials, as well as a Post Office and the welcoming Cavendish Arms, perfect for those evenings where you don’t feel like cooking. Doveridge also has a lovely children's playground and playing field, where the little ones can run around and play after a homemade picnic. The village is also an ideal location for cycling enthusiasts, as it is not only surrounded by country lanes and on the National Cycle Route (549) but is also within easy reach of the Tissington Trail and Churnet Valley Cycle Path. A short distance away is Doveridge Clay Sports, the impressive JCB world headquarters is at Rocester with a visitor centre, guided tour and shop, or you can treat yourself to a day at Hoar Cross Hall Spa. Uttoxeter has a good selection of eateries and independent shops, the delightsome Refearn Cottage where you can brush up on the town’s history, the popular racecourse which frequently holds fixtures and the excellent Uttoxeter Golf Club. Uttoxeter also offers a cinema, bowling, ice skating and swimming. There are a number of National Trust sites in the area including Ilam Hall and Calke Abbey. Next stop is Ashbourne, speckled with historic buildings and shops, if you time your visit right you may catch the annual Shrovetide football match! From here you can easily access the fun-filled Alton Towers theme park and gardens, where you can ride a wide variety of rollercoasters, tour the on-site aquarium, or sample a selection of delicious snacks and meals. The fun continues at Peak Wildlife Park for any animal lovers in your group, and the Conkers Adventure and Discovery Park.
