This lovely stone-built cottage is an annexe to the owners? home, on the outskirts of the village of Rowsley, less than 3 miles from Bakewell and Matlock. As there?s an abundance of activities to suit all ages in the area, this cottage is equally ideal for a couple or a small family. You enter the cottage into a modern kitchen with Belfast sink and granite work surfaces, then onto a spacious sitting room with dining area which fills with natural light and looks out to the beautiful extensive gardens. A couple of steps down from the hall is the tasteful bathroom with elegant fixtures befitting this period property, and upstairs is a spacious and light king-size en-suite bedroom, and a twin. Outside, there?s a sheltered and private courtyard and you are free to stroll the beautiful extensive gardens which are teeming with birdlife and the occasional visiting sheep from the neighbouring farm. Cyclists are well catered for as the cottage sits at the base of Rowsley Bar, which is listed in the top 100 climbs in Britain. The Peak Shopping Village designer outlet is just a few hundred yards away, and some of the best gastro pubs and fine dining restaurants in the region are within walking distance. The majestic Chatsworth House is less than 3 miles away, and head a few miles in one direction to amble around the pretty market town of Bakewell or a few in the opposite direction to enjoy a ride in a cable car, a steam train or a horse and carriage in Matlock and Matlock Bath. Other nearby local attractions include the Crich Tramway Museum, Carsington Water which is a lovely spot for a picnic, Dovedale and the Tissington Trail, a 13 mile route starting in Ashbourne. Whenever you go, there is lots to see and do making this a perfect cottage base.
