This delightful Grade II listed cottage (part of an old Stocking Mill) nestling in the picturesque Peak District benefits from being only a few steps away from the village tearoom & some cracking pubs! Cycle on the Monsal Trail or walk in the stunning grounds at Chatsworth House, both are easily accessible and glorious views await. A visit to the nearby market town of Bakewell to sample the infamous Bakewell Pudding, is also a must! Our aim has been to make The Bobbin, an extremely comfortable 'home from home' !
The cottage is split over three floors and comprises:
Kitchen, Sitting Room with eating area, Double Bedroom, Twin Room and Family Bathroom on the top floor.
There is a shared Courtyard to the rear, accessible from the kitchen with table and chairs and an outhouse for laundry and a freezer and the for bicycles.
Regarding children playing outside, please be advised there is no gate to close off the Courtyard.
Also, the staircase is steep and may not be suitable for very young children, ie toddlers and the elderly.
Guest access:
Guests can park in front of/near to the property and have access via the right hand side of the building and via the kitchen to the Courtyard at the rear of the cottage.
The neighbourhood:
The Bobbin is perfectly situated in the heart of the village & ideal for those with & without transport. Ashford in the Water is steeped in history & with the Monsal Trail on the doorstep, there is plenty to see & do. You can enjoy a day out visiting Derbyshire's jewel, Chatsworth or pop into Bakewell & then on to Haddon Hall. Nearby Hassop Station has a wonderful café, book & gift store too with cycle/bike hire available.

Located in Bakewell, this cottage is in a rural area. Bakewell Golf Club and Goyt Valley are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those in the mood for shopping can visit Buxton Baths and Chesterfield Market. Traveling with kids? Consider Bloomers Original Bakewell Puddings, or check out an event or a game at Hathersage Swimming Pool. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with mountain biking, hiking, and cycling nearby.
