Resting in the market town of Bakewell, in the heart of the Peak District, is this end-terrace cottage, Church Cottage. Set over three floors and sleeping up to six guests, Church Cottage is a spacious and ideal dwelling for your next family getaway to Derbyshire, within easy reach of Matlock and Buxton. At the rear of the property, there is off-road parking available, so that you can then enter the property through the private garden into the large kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up your favourite family meal and join together around the dining table to plan your holiday activities, there is also a handy dishwasher so no arguing about who's turn it is to do the pots, moving through the property there is a few stairs down to a sitting room, where a woodburning stove takes centre stage as you cuddle up around the TV to escape reality, or go into the next sitting room to enjoy some peace and quiet, to complete this floor there is also a downstairs WC and a quirky cinema room with a large TV in front of a selection of bean bags. Up the stairs to the first floor there are two twin bedrooms, both with ample storage space to unpack any personal belongings and lovely feature fireplaces, as well as a shower room so you can prepare for your day, and up another flight of stairs there is a stylish king-size bedroom with a contemporary en-suite wet room, to enjoy some privacy when the evening draws to a close. Outside there is a gorgeous multi-level garden with lawn, patio and well-kept trees, as well as furniture to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining, and there is also a bike store. Bakewell retains a delightful rural atmosphere and offers a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as local farmers’ markets, an old 17th Century market hall and a leisure centre with a swimming pool, it is also situated within the Peak District and is ideally placed for exploring both the rugged Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak. Within driving distance is Alton Towers Theme Park, a handful of breathtaking stately homes including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, the impressive caverns in nearby Castleton and Little John’s burial place in Hathersage. A day trip to Matlock or Matlock Bath leaves you in the home of Pic Tor War Memorial from 1921, Heights of Abraham hilltop park accessed from the by either cable car or a steep zig-zag path, and Gulliver's Kingdom Theme Park, or go the opposite direction to Buxton which is also worthy of your time, as you can visit the impressive Edwardian Opera House, designed by Frank Matcham, or Solomon's Temple, a hilltop landmark dating from 1896 which offers views of the Peak District from the top of its tower.
