Hunters Cottage, Youlgreave

Peak District. Sleeps up to 6

Hunters Cottage is a well-presented, terraced cottage nestled in the heart of the village of Youlgreave, Derbyshire. Boasting a homely feel with characterful touches and ideal for a walking, cycling or hiking holiday, Hunters Cottage welcomes families and couples for a heart-warming stay in the Peak District. Enter into the sitting room and you’ll immediately be drawn to the inglenook fireplace housing a woodburning stove, a welcome addition during those colder months. Original flagstone flooring leads to the kitchen, equipped with a host of appliances, including a large electric oven and gas hob set within the chimney breast. Enjoy mealtimes at the dining table, or sit in the little conservatory which is a real suntrap. Venture upstairs to find three bedrooms, including two king-size rooms and a double room. Start the day with a bath or shower in the family bathroom before making your way to the enclosed garden and pondering on the day ahead. Within a moment’s stroll are several pubs where you can enjoy a selection of beverages and there’s a local village store for grabbing fresh ingredients. Just over three miles away is the fascinating town of Bakewell, offering a wonderful day out with several independent shops selling local goods and crafts, including the famous Original Bakewell Pudding Shop, plus several restaurants to sample. Avid walkers can spend their time exploring the many local routes, such as Lathkill Dale and the Limestone Way, which are directly accessible from the village. Alternatively, you can drive to Castleton, the starting point for Mam Tor, a three-mile trail that is rewarded with glorious vistas of the Edale Valley or choose the 13-mile Tissington Trail if cycling is more your sport of choice. Hunters Cottage is well-placed for those looking to experience the wonders of the Peak District National Park.
