Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
Town: Ashbourne, which is located at the southernmost point of the Peak District, is the epitome of an English market town, complete with a marketplace with stalls, an odd street layout, winding cobblestone lanes, coaching inns, and almshouses. The town was a posh social hub during its heyday in the 18th century, and many lovely Georgian structures from this period still stand today. The town is still known as something of a sanctuary for antique hunters today and still has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants and inns, but don't expect a deal! The Dove and Manifold Valleys are nearby for those who prefer more outdoor activities, while Alton Towers, with its thrilling collection of thrills and attractions, is only a short drive away for thrill seekers.
Located in Ashbourne, this apartment is in a rural area and on a river. Pipes in The Peaks and The Regent Theatre are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Ashbourne Golf Club and Sudbury Hall and the National Trust Museum of Childhood. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Wild Park Derbyshire or Uttoxeter Racecourse. Practice your golf swing on a nearby course, or enjoy other activities in the great outdoors, such as hiking, ecotours, and cycling in the area.
