This stunning country house is located in the peaceful hamlet of S. Huish. Seven bedrooms, three reception rooms, beautiful gardens with own drive with plenty of parking, gated side garden with heated pool, hot tub, bbq and outdoor seating areas. If you should wish to leave this perfect family retreat, the beach at Thurlestone Sands is a mile down the road, wonderful for sunbathing, swimming and watersports. The village of Thurlestone a little further on with its famous links golf course. Hope Cove and the surfing beach at Bantham are also nearby. The bustling sailing town of Salcombe with it's golden beaches and designer shops is 4 miles away. This gorgeous 17th century hideaway provides the perfect base from which to explore the treasures of the South Devon Coastal path and beyond.
Set back from a quiet lane and only overlooked by the ruins of St Andrew's Church. Once through the gate, continue down the drive through the beautiful lawned garden. At the front of the house is a large, sheltered terrace with wicker sofas, and large dining table, perfect for lazy summer entertaining.
Inside
Ground floor. Entrance to hall. Large country style lounge with inglenook fireplace with log burning stove and window seat. Large fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with granite worktops, aga, oven, hob, dishwasher. Vintage dresser, larder and large pine table and chairs. Utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, american fridge freezer and butler sink. Adjoining the kitchen is the vaulted garden room with corner sofa, tv with sky and pool table. Off the hall is a downstairs cloakroom. At the rear of the house is a cinema room with football table and dart board. From this room there is access to the hot tub and pool area. Upstairs there are 7 beautiful bedrooms and 5 bathrooms spaced out over 2 floors.
Upon request only we have a DOWNSTAIRS DOUBLE BEDROOM, please note showering facilities are upstairs.
Outside
As well as the beautiful gardens and terrace at the front of the house, to the side is a gated area that leads to the hot tub, and a further patio with loungers surrounded by olives trees and roses. This area can also be accessed from the cinema room. Up some steps you will find the heated outdoor pool (open May - September). Above the pool is another large terrace with a summerhouse, bbq and further tables and chairs perfect for dining whilst relaxing by the pool.
The garden provide something for everyone, room for the kids to roam free, space for a family game of frisbie, a croquet tournament or football match or just somewhere hide away and relax. There is even an outdoor table tennis table.
CANCELLATION POLICY - in light of the current situation I have changed my policy to 14 days but once the COVID-19 outbreak ends (in line with Government advice) I will revert to my 60 day cancellation policy.
Located in Kingsbridge, this cottage is in a rural area and by the sea. The area's natural beauty can be seen at South Devon and Dartmoor National Park, while Salcombe Maritime Museum and Overbecks Museum and Garden are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Consider Sea N Shore and Slapton Ley Field Centre. Discover the area's water adventures with windsurfing and motor boating nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with cycling and hiking.
