Sleeps a maximum of fourteen in four main bedrooms plus a sofabed in the playroom and a king size plus a single daybed in the cabin building. There is also a single camp bed, two wooden cots, a travel cot plus two spare cot bed mattress. Please make a request for these extra items.

Ideal for a family or two or three families holidaying together or big family gatherings etc. Only really suitable for up to ten adults ideally but can accommodate more, especially kids. Offers huge amounts of privacy and peace and quiet.

A beautiful stone detached house offering complete privacy and seclusion in the middle of it's own parkland grounds with mature trees on the edge of the lovely Devon village of Christow, on the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park and up the hill from the River Teign.

The house is ideal for a family or two or three families holidaying together.
There are plenty of things for the kids to do plus lots of lovely space for the adults to relax and enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine with the rare treat of complete privacy.

Set in the Teign Valley, this is an amazing spot for a number of outdoor activities. There are walks from the doorstep, bike trails, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, horse riding and golf. Haldon Hill, 20 minutes away, is a great woodland park for off road cycling, and cycle and Segway hire is also available. There are many golf courses in the National Park, including the glorious Bovey Castle, Teign Valley and Stover. Horse riding on the moor can be easily arranged to suit all capabilities, this is fantastic area to ride in. Dartmoor is 95,400 hectares of open access land, great for climbing, letter boxing or just to stroll across the wonderful moorland to see the ponies. Dawlish Warren, a 25-minute drive, has sand dunes, swimming, moorings and the usual seaside treats, whilst Exmouth, 40 minutes away, has a long sandy beach with many amenities and is popular with kitesurfers and for rock pooling too. There are several National Trust properties within a short distance from the house too.

A short walk away are the village shop and post office and the very popular local pub The Artichoke Inn. Also within easy reach are the tennis courts where you can pay by the hour or join for the week, a well maintained and equipped play park with a basketball court and zip wire and there is also a skate park. A short drive or longer bike ride away are the stunning Kennick, Trenchford and Tottiford reservoirs which offer beautiful scenery and fabulous walks or the Teign Valley Golf Club for a round of golf.

Approximately twenty minutes drive or one hour bus journey away is the cathedral city of Exeter which offers cinemas, shops, cafes, restaurants and theatres. Half and hour drive takes you on the wilds of the high moor of Dartmoor or to the beaches of Teignmouth or Dawlish Warren.

The house is an ideal base to explore the attractions of the wider area such as the lovely coastal towns and villages of the South Hams or the stunning surfing beaches of North Devon and Cornwall, or stick closer by and take one of many walks from the house which loop back to the village with stunning views of the Teign Valley. Or visit the nearby charming villages of Dunsford with ultra popular tea room The Walled Garden, plus Bridford, Trusham, Lower Ashton or Doddiscombsleigh which offer superb village pubs.

A mile from the house you will find Canonteign Falls, the highest waterfall in England with lakes, childrens' play areas, assault courses and a cafe.

Nearby also are an abundance of wild swimming spots and river fed or heated outdoor pools such as in Bovey Tracey, Chagford, Chudleigh, Moretonhampstead and Topsham. All within thirty minutes drive.

To be honest, there is too much to mention to see and do in the immediate or wider area!

The house is set back from a quiet village lane through double gates with granite pillars, down a 300 ft sweeping tree lined gravel driveway leading to a couple of large parking areas. The huge front lawned garden offers an array of specimen trees including birch, sycamore and eucalyptus. There is a tall front hedge giving you complete privacy and seclusion.

The side garden offers a further lawned area with stunning views of the surrounding countryside plus various flower beds and laurel hedges. There is a log store and a covered ping pong area. There are steps down to a tiled terrace which is a sun trap with loungers and a table and chairs. There is also a BBQ and fire pit for the guests to use.

The rear garden is mainly lawned with a gravel path leading to the wood. There is a trampoline and a large wooden climbing frame with a bridge, slide, rope climbing walls and two swings.

The timber clad cabin building has many windows overlooking the rear garden plus a velux to enjoy a view of the tall trees and the stars. It has a king size bed plus a single daybed. There is an en-suite shower room. There is a DVD player and access to broadband.

The main house offers a spacious triple aspect sitting room with two large three seater sofas and various other seating plus a woodburner for those chillier evenings. There is a 46 inch TV giving you access to all of the Freeview channels plus Now TV with Sky Cinema, Entertainment and Kids plus Netflix and other on demand channels.

Also on the ground floor there is a spacious fully equipped eat in kitchen (22 sq metres) with double oven, electric hob, full sized dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, Dualit toaster, popcorn maker, Magimix, blender, kettle etc. plus a breakfast bar with four stools and a large dining table. This table will seat 8 - 10 comfortably.

Outside the double doors from the kitchen there is a massive granite table which seats 12 easily. There is a small utility room outside with washing machine and also a back porch for boots and for storing garden cushions etc. There is also an outside shower.

Finally, there is a playroom, with a large window overlooking the front garden which has two leather sofas, one of which is a small double sofa bed. There is an extensive collection of DVDs and games and toys plus an X Box(DVD) and Wii.

Up the stairs you will find the master bedroom with an antique French king size bed, TV/DVD , armoire and chest of drawers plus a balcony with stunning views of the trees and the rear and side gardens plus further afield. The en-suite shower room provides a shower, basin and WC.

There are two further good sized bedrooms with king size beds. Both have built in wardrobes and shelving and large windows overlooking the one acre lawned front garden.

There is a smaller bedroom with lovely window overlooking the rear garden which has a double / single bunk bed and a small wardrobe. There is also the single camp bed, two cot bed size mattresses plus the cots which can be prepared with bed linen etc. for any of the rooms.

Finally on the first floor there is a modern tiled family bathroom with a stunning huge Georgian window overlooking the rear garden and our own small woodland and offering views of the surrounding fields and trees and hill backdrop. It has wooden floors and provides a large spa bath, separate shower cubicle, basin and WC.

There is a ping pong table under a covered area. There is also an extensive array of outdoor toys etc and for smaller children, with a sheltered area.

There are lots of kids toys and activities which hopefully keeping younger holidaymakers happy and occupied, so their parents get to enjoy themselves too!
