Lazy Hare At Jen's Orchard, St Giles On The Heath

Cornwall. Sleeps up to 2

Launceston 5.9 miles. The boutique interior has been designed by artist and award winning designer Scott Hendrie. The project is a unique one, which we are very proud of as it is such an eclectic design. We wanted to keep the feel of the barn conversion which was originally a cow shed with its vaulted ceilings exposed beams and wood burner, attempting to mix styles including Gothic, medieval and fantasy whilst keeping it cosy and contemporary we feel we have created an extremely fun and luxurious space.; The property is situated on a farm in a quiet rural central location which is great for exploring the local area. The large lounge has a bar and a wood burner. The exterior has great views and quirky areas to relax. There is a four poster double bed in the master bedroom which is cherub and Putto inspired. The original farmstead dates back to at least 1066 and has had a number of prestigious custodians including Lord Ashburton (the High Sheriff of Cornwall), and Lord Ostephan. All guests will be greeted with a complimentary legendary Cornish cream tea and pasties on arrival with basic foods like bread, milk and eggs so if you arrive late at least you can have some breakfast in the morning. Scott and Karen won best design for 2020 on Houzz this is the 3rd year they have won best design. Scott's art and design has been featured in many worldwide publications including the Sunday Times, the Telegraph, Cosmopolitan, Red and many more. He has worked with Grand Designs, been featured in a documentary with the the BBC, and has exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery, Kensington and Chelsea and the Strand. Scott works with a community of British artists and designers who are represented through the brand Brave Boutique and the Lazy Hare showcases some of the artists work. We have mixed a lot of up cycled architectural salvage with antiques and contemporary art and design. Scott and Karen plan to host retreats teaching street art, sculpture, photography, writing, holistic and environmental events. The house is situated perfectly for sight seeing some amazing historical, spiritual and scenic highlights including Tintagel , St Nechtan's Glen, Lydford Gorge and Boscastle to name a few. With an abundance of nature including amazing bird life including owls, kingfishers, herons, woodpeckers, buzzards and even the odd cuckoo. Recently, another local our friend Derek Gow has released beavers into the local environment. You might also be lucky and spot a stag or even an otter. The large garden has various places to sit and relax. The area is amazing for artists with great views, moors, beaches, castles, seascapes and ancient spiritual sites. With no light or air pollution on a clear night you can see some breathtaking stars and the sunsets are spectacular as are the views. There is a local friendly Camra pub the Pint and Post serving good pub food within 1 mile with a great range of real ales. With a few others within a 5 minute drive. There is also a small shop near the Pint and Post. With Roadford lake around 5 miles away which boasts the largest sporting lake in the South West there are many activities to indulge in, including water sports, fishing and archery.
