The Old Stables is a recent barn conversion in the quiet hamlet of Hatch. Close to some of the South Hams best beaches, walks and the well known towns of Salcombe, Dartmouth and Totnes. There is a great outdoor deck and garden area to enjoy alfresco dining. The Old Stables is a lovely barn conversion with many original features and has a modern cottage feel. It is an ‘upside down house’ to enable the light upstairs room to be utilised as the kitchen and living space and also to allow access from the kitchen directly out into the garden. As you enter the barn from the ground floor there is a stone staircase and entrance hall with a generous bedroom to the left and one to the right. Straight ahead is a family bathroom with a large shower and lovely freestanding bath. At the top of the stairs to your right is a living room with a large window with views across the countryside and down to the Avon river. To the left of the stairs is a bespoke open plan kitchen/dinning room with an electric aga. There is a large storage cupboard at the back which houses a washing machine and counter top freezer. The kitchen is also equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, toaster, radio and Bluetooth speaker. The kitchen leads out to the garden that has a decked area for sitting and has a gas BBQ. There is also a lawned area with a washing line. Any dogs on the property must be on a lead unless contained in the garden. There is parking for 1 car available on site. The public roads to access the property are narrow and have pot holes. With the owners living close by we can be available for questions and advice of things to do and places to go in the local area. Hatch is a small hamlet down a single track road, it’s a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. With great beaches including Bantham, Thurlestone and South Milton just a 10minute drive away and fantastic coastal and woodland walks close by it’s a fab place for a holiday or short get away. There is a great pub about a miles uphill walk (or drive) away, a brilliant farm shop and cafe (Aune Valley) less than a miles walk and within a few miles you have all the great aminites and shops of Kingsbridge town. There is a nearby bus stop (1 mile) that is on a main route to Plymouth and Kingsbridge. There is the mainline train station in Totnes that’s less than a 30min drive from your stay. Please be aware the outside area is raised with a drop on one side in the grassed area. High chair and travel cot, books/toys can be provided but must be requested prior to your stay We only allow 2 dogs maximum
