The Retreat is a beautifully presented, peaceful, spacious pent-house apartment with modern furnishings. This property is located in the heart of Sidmouth and perfect for couples or families wanting to explore the local area. There is plenty of space to relax in the apartment after a day out and about. There are views across the rooftops to Salcombe Hill. The property is an ideal base for exploring Sidmouth and the many surrounding towns and villages. The bus stop is close by so a car is not essential. Situated in the heart of Sidmouth town centre, the apartment is within a short 2-minute level walk of the beach and shops. The cricket club, tennis courts, bowls, croquet and award-winning gardens are nearby. There are water sports such as kayaking and paddle boarding available in the summer, fabulous coastal walks along the famous Jurassic coast offer stunning views at any time of the year.

There are four steps into the building, then the option either using the stairs, or the elevator to the second floor. There is then a flight of stairs to the entrance of the apartment. The entrance hall has rooms leading off from it, with a light and open dining room in the centre. There is a well-furnished lounge with comfortable seating options. Well-equipped modern kitchen with integrated appliances. Two lovely bedrooms one with twin beds and one with a double bed. Modern bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Private secure parking space for one small to medium sized car.

DIRECTIONS: From the A3052 Exeter to Lyme Regis road, turn towards on the B3176 for Sidmouth at the Bowd Inn. Carry on down this road until you reach a mini roundabout, go straight ahead and turn left onto the seafront. Turn immediately left again in between the Bedford Hotel Riviera Hotel. You will see an iron gate in front of you leading under Western Court. The entry code for the gates is 5612. The parking space is marked  No 34. Please ensure your car is parked within the confines of the bay and be respectful of other car park users .

Please do not park in the visitor parking bay. This is for temporary visitors only, not occupants of the flats.

THE KEY: Will be left for you in a key safe (small black box) on the pillar near the parking space. Rotate the numbers to 0451 and pull open the safe. Please scramble the numbers of the safe when locked again.

ACCESS: Go through the door from the car park marked Lift flats 28-34. Press the 'doorbell' it will buzz and pull the door open- the key for this door is BLUE. Go up the steps or lift to floor 1 and go out the door marked Fire Exit, the key to this door is RED. Go across the path outside to flats 28-34, press the trade button and pull open the door, the key to this door is ORANGE. Flat No. 34 is at the top of the stairs (there is also a lift to the second floor, then a short flight of stairs). The keys to the flat door are PINK and GREEN. The trade buttons are not activated in the evening so please take your keys out with you. If you arrive after 5pm you will need to use the keys to open all the doors, not the trade button or the door bell (buzzer).

 There are also stairs marked fire exit you can use.  Please  note that the trade buttons turn off at 5pm so you will need to take your keys.   The code for the door from the patio terrace steps to the garage is C3478Y. The main car park gate is for vehicular access only and should not be used by pedestrians, the pedestrian access is via the main patio area.

We suggest you unload your car in front of the flat (on 'the triangle') where the buses stop. The flat no. 34 is in the second block facing the triangle, where the buses stop, not the block above the parking area.

LINEN: Bed linen and towels are included. For holidays of two weeks or more fresh linen can be provided. Please let us know before the start of your holiday if this is required. We ask you to strip the beds you are using and leave the linen by the front door, the clean linen will be delivered for you on the change over day.  Please bring your own beach towels.

CLEANING: On departure, please ensure the property is left clean and tidy as found. In the unlikely event that we are notified by the owner or caretaker that a property has not been left in a satisfactory condition, please be aware that an extra charge will be made as set out in our Terms and Conditions. Please accept our thanks for your co-operation in this matter.

RECYCLING/ RUBBISH: Please make sure the correct recycling is sorted accordingly. There are notes in the welcome folder explaining how to recycle correctly at Western Court. Please make sure that you take your rubbish to the bin store before your departure. Please recycle where possible to help keep Devon as green as possible. Please note that the bin store will be locked between 7pm and 6am every day.

BREAKAGES: Please report any breakages or repairs needed before the end of the holiday.

PROBLEMS: Hopefully there will be no problems during your stay, but if you find there is something wrong, please can you let us know during your stay, we are here to help and will not be able to solve problems once you return home.
