One of the joys of staying at Penhayes View, is the opportunity to sample some of the best local cuisine - be it fine restaurants, traditional pubs, or something a little bit different. Kenton has the Rodean Restaurant, and Powderham Farm Shop which are all within a few minutes’ walk. Supermarkets, restaurants, a fish and chip shop, pub and local shops are just two to three miles away in the local villages of Starcross and Cockwood. Situated in one of South Devon’s most beautiful areas, you will be able to stroll and explore the nearby walks direct from the property, spotting the bird life of the Exe Estuary and the picturesque coastal resorts.
An ideal position for touring South Devon, there is a lovely beach at Dawlish Warren less than four miles away, as well as the nearby beaches of Teignmouth, Exmouth, and Torbay. The wild bird sanctuary and reserve at Dawlish Warren is nearby, as is rugged Dartmoor, a haven for wildlife, wild ponies, and more strenuous walks. The cathedral city of Exeter is a short easy drive and offers a range of popular shops and boutiques, restaurants, theatre, cinemas, and other leisure facilities. Close by, there are other attractions to suit all tastes as well as numerous National Trust properties and gardens.
The 3,500-acre Haldon Hills Forest Park is just 15 minutes’ drive away and is criss-crossed with walking and cycling trails for all abilities, perfectly completed by brunch or a luscious slice of cake in the café. You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit to Penhayes View and you will certainly want to stay time and time again!
