If you're looking for a traditional vintage cottage holiday in Devon, a fabulous family summer holiday or a romantic weekend break away with all the luxuries of home, then Mulberry, is the perfect choice for you. Our peaceful holiday cottage is part of the original Georgian house within the Colmer Estate. Located in the former manor house, Mulberry is a gorgeous two bedroom mews holiday cottage, set in the heart of the sought after South Hams. Our cottage offers lots of traditional vintage character and charm; tastefully decorated to a high standard in a boutique style that offers all the comforts of home. The large and comfy lounge features 2 leather 3 seater settees, large flat screen TV, DVD and stereo. There is also an excellent vintage classic book collection for your perusal. The dining area has a large solid wood table with six chairs. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, washing machine. The large staircase leads to a well-appointed landing with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a double bed, large double mirrored wardrobes which also house a TV and DVD player, there's also a comfortable armchair for you to relax/read quietly. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, and plenty of fitted wardrobe space. The large bathroom features twin his and hers sinks for your convenience, a full size bath, with shower attachment, and overhead electric shower. It has a large heated towel rail and is fully equipped to a high standard.

Mulberry offers a wealth of sporting and leisure facilities which are free and exclusively for the use of Colmer Guests. Set in 28 acres of private grounds, with stunning walks and panoramic countryside views. The grounds are a mixture of wild flower meadows with babbling brooks, woodland and grassed areas, here you can find a wealth of wildlife such as foxes, badgers, rabbits, deer as well as a large variety of bird life, including woodcocks, pheasants, heron, and don't forget the moor hens and mallards on the lake. You can also experience the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Gunnera Walkway - a fabulous plantation of Giant Brazilian Rhubarb plants.

Residents can enjoy the large outdoor pool (heated during summer months) and an all year round heated indoor pool. The Fitness room, located above the indoor pool, has a cross trainer, exercise bicycle, rowing machine and treadmill. Set amongst beautiful surroundings you will find a full size all weather tennis court for your enjoyment, Table Tennis is also available to play too. Try coarse fishing on the private lake, (adults require a rod license available from local post office). Alternatively, get away from it all and picnic, read, relax, or just feed the ducks at this idyllic spot. The walled garden houses play equipment for children, with a large lawned area for ball games and boules and a wooden play room with table football and games.

If you enjoy a game of Golf courses nearby are Bigbury, Dartmouth, Wrangton and Thurlstone.

Mulberry is ideally located for great places to visit nearby, the towns and villages of Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Totnes, Dartmouth and Plymouth are all close at hand. Just 5 minutes away by car is the charming ancient market town of Modbury, this pretty little town has an ecletic mix of shops, pubs/eateries, and places to grab a coffee, cake or devonshire pasty! There's even a Chinese or Indian Take away who deliver if you don't feel like cooking but fancy a night in. Just a short walk away is the award winning gastro pub, The California Country Inn, which hosts great local beers and produce. California Cross, again, 5 minutes walk away has a local spar shop at the garage, where you can pick up any essential groceries.

The beautiful Dartmoor National Park and Dartmoor ponies are just 10 miles away, and the attractions of The River Dart Country Park and The Miniature Pony Centre are a must for all the family. You are spoilt for choice for nearby local attractions, the theme parks of Woodlands, and Pennywell are excellent places for a great family day out

Here you can spend time exploring and enjoy the wide selection of craft shops, art galleries etc. September sees the Agatha Christie Festival and there are a number of themed events planned in the area. The Dartmouth Food Festival in October is well worth a visit and a great opportunity to taste a selection of local produce - you could even pick up some tips from renowned chefs in one of their cookery demonstrations. Autumn is a great time of year for walking too and is the best season to see migrating birds. There's a good chance of some windy weather at this time of year and local beaches are good for surfing, windsurfing or kite flying - why not try surf school during the half term holidays? Dartmoor is a lovely place to visit and is only a short drive away. In the autumn you can enjoy the changing colour of this beautiful landscape - great for the budding artist or photographer.







The Colmer Estate is itself home to a variety of wildlife including woodcocks, pheasants, foxes, badgers, rabbits and deer. The meadow and lake attract a variety of butterflies, dragonflies and birds including moorhens and mallards.
California Cross is just a five minutes' walk away with its local shops, pub and award-winning restaurant. The English Riviera is also a fabulous location for literary lovers to soak up the art deco atmosphere that inspired so many Agatha Christie novels.
The South Hams is a fabulous choice for a family holiday in Devon. It is famous for its beautiful coastline, unspoilt Devon countryside, rugged moorland and has some of the finest sandy beaches suitable for a range of water sports or just sunbathing and crabbing.he nearby award-winning beaches at Bigbury-on-Sea, Challaborough and Bantham offer excellent facilities. There are lifeguards on duty during the summer months making the area an great choice for a Devon family holiday.

Dartmoor National Park is a stunning haven for nature lovers and The Eden Project, a little further afield, is well worth a visit.

Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Salcombe all offer fabulous shopping opportunities and farmers' markets - a far cry from the chain stores on your average high street.

The South Hams is great for a holiday at any time of year with a whole range of sports and leisure activities including sailing, boat trips, surfing, walking, horse riding, fishing and golf. There are numerous golf courses locally including Bigbury Golf Club and the Dartmouth Golf and Country Club.

Located in Ivybridge, this cottage is in a rural area and by the sea. Brownston Art Gallery and The Watermark are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Overbecks Museum and Garden and Coleton Fishacre. Traveling with kids? Consider Woodlands Family Theme Park, or check out an event or a game at Plympton Swimming Pool. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
