Town: Bampton is a delightfully tranquil Devon community located near to the Exmoor National Park on the banks of the River Batherm, a tributary of the River Exe. Bampton is known for its floral displays, pony fair, and folk festival. It also has a nice selection of businesses and magnificent Georgian cottages and homes. There are many country pursuits available in this rural area, including fishing in the two reservoirs at Wimbleball and Clatworthy, Exmoor safaris through dramatic windswept moors, walking the Exe Valley Way, horseback riding across the moor, and cycling along the Lowman Way. The nearby towns of Dulverton and Tiverton also provide plenty of amenities. The lovely North Devon coastline, which is farther away, offers wonderful walks, little coves, sandy beaches, and views of Wales. An excellent starting point for touring North Devon and the Exmoor National Park is Bampton.

The area's natural beauty can be seen at Exmoor National Park and Quantock Hills, while Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life and Bakelite Museum are cultural highlights. Monsters Mansion and Devon Railway Centre are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking nearby.
