The Sandridge Boathouse is a charming property located in Stoke Gabriel, Devon, in the South West of England. With a capacity to sleep 4 people in its 2 bedrooms, this historic boathouse offers a unique and romantic setting near the coast. Built in 1760 as a bathing house, it sits on the secluded Sandridge Barton estate where the Dart River flows between Stoke Gabriel and Dittisham.
Accessed by a 600-yard walk through a gentle valley and woods, the Boathouse provides a haven from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Inside, the living space is beautifully decorated with oak floors and floor-to-ceiling French windows that open to a balcony overlooking the river. The first floor features two bedrooms, one with a super king size bed and en suite bathroom, and the other with twin beds and beams to the apex.
Surrounded by a covered balcony with a table and chairs, the Boathouse offers a perfect spot for al fresco dining with a view of the river and thick woods behind. Nearby attractions include the village of Stoke Gabriel with its pubs, shops, and quay for crabbing, as well as sandy beaches at Torbay and the town of Totnes just four miles away. Visitors can also take a ferry to Dartmouth or explore the National Trust's Greenway and Coleton Fishacre.
Whether you choose to relax at the Boathouse or explore the surrounding area, a stay at this unique and magical property promises an unforgettable holiday experience. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, the Sandridge Boathouse offers a peaceful retreat in a picturesque setting along the Devon coast.
