An impressive, five-bedroom Victorian house in Lyme Regis, Dorset, Braeside is a wonderful holiday home for up to ten guests. Located close to the town with its beaches and many visitor attractions, this is a fantastic choice for families or groups of friends wanting to enjoy this wonderful part of the Jurassic Coast. Retaining many period features, typical of its age, Braeside has been sympathetically and tastefully furnished and provides spacious accommodation arranged over three floors. On the ground floor there is a spacious family lounge with plush seating and a woodburning stove, perfect for those cooler evenings. The kitchen is a delightful sociable space and great for preparing meals which can be enjoyed together around the large dining table. After dinner, let your competitive streak kick in and enjoy games such as table tennis, pool and air hockey in the family games room. Three of the five bedrooms are located on the first floor. Both the super-king-size and king-size bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, with the twin room and family bathroom with impressive free-standing bath, also located on this floor. A narrow and steep staircase leads to the second floor where you will find a further double bedroom with views over Lyme Regis and a twin room. Outside, the garden at Braeside is a delight, with various seating areas to sit and soak up the sun. A decked terrace area at the rear is reached via a winding pathway taking you past mature trees and coastal planting and enjoys views over Lyme Regis and the sea beyond. The spacious patio is perfect for alfresco dining with a large dining table and chairs perfectly placed to seat a large group. A short walk takes you into the town centre where you will find a great selection of independent shops, cafés, and eateries. Food lovers will delight in the excellent choice of restaurants whether you fancy fine dining, local seafood or just enjoying a bite to eat with a sea view, there is something for everyone. The seafront, with its family friendly beaches is perfect for those looking to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday. Watersports such as paddle boarding are available and for those wanting to get out on the water, boat trips run regularly from the famous Cobb harbour. In an area renowned for fossils, why not try your hand at fossil hunting on the beaches or learn about the history at the town museum. Nearby Charmouth has an informative heritage centre located on the seafront where you can get tips on finding your own fossils, meet the Charmouth Dinosaur and explore the past and present of this incredible stretch of coastline. When it comes to days out, a journey along the coast road will take you to Burton Bradstock with its famous swannery and award winning sub-tropical gardens. Crealy Theme Park, near Exeter, has been voted Devon’s best day out for eight years running and is a great family day out with over 60 rides and attractions. Whether it’s a relaxing seaside break or fun filled family holiday, you can enjoy it all with a stay at Braeside. Please note: Access to the second-floor bedrooms is via a steep and narrow staircase which could be difficult for young children and anyone with mobility issues so please bear this in mind when booking.
