THE LOCAL AREA:
The apartment is situated on the cliff tops of Southbourne-On-Sea at The Crossroads where you can find a convenience store and cafes and is only a short walk to the 'Zig -Zag' path down to the award winning sandy beaches. There are nearby shops, cafes and restaurants at Southbourne Crossroads which includes the well known restaurant Roots which is a contemporary fine dining restaurant. For activity in the local area Seafield Gardens, which has held the prestigious Green Flag Award since 2001, offers bowls, tennis and features a water tower. One tourist feature of Southbourne-On-Sea is the Fisherman's Walk Cliff Railway, a funicular railway between the clifftop coastal road and the promenade and beach. The easternmost part of the area is called Hengistbury Head. The land train runs across Hengistbury Head from the bus terminus to the beach. There is a golf course here and kite flying is a very popular activity. A long, but pleasant, walk along the promenade leads you to Boscombe or Bournemouth piers for all amenities and a variety of family entertainment and tourist attractions. A short car drive offers the historic town of Christchurch or the vast New Forest. Alternatively a short drive will take you to Bournemouth town centre for more of the hustle and bustle this tourist town has to offer. The Pier approach with it's leisure facilities and entertainment is a must to visit whilst staying in this seaside holiday town.
