Neighbourhood overview
The Isle of Purbeck is a stunning place to visit.

The famous Swanage Steam Railway line runs through Harmans Cross connecting the beautiful seaside town of Swanage and the historical village of Corfe Castle.

Why not take a step back in time?
Just jump on at Harmans Cross station and let the steam train whistle you away.

Swanage is perfect for a beach stroll, fish & chips, and some famous Purbeck Ice cream to finish.
Swanage holds the South's Biggest Carnival and different famous festivals to suit all tastes throughout the year. Also full of pubs, bars, restaurants and a theatre Swanage is sure to keep you entertained.

You will see the unmissable ruins of Corfe Castle on your journey to your holiday home, do go back and visit the friendly village and walk around the grounds of the castle.
You won't be disappointed.

Follow the road that wraps around the back of the castle. Hidden and a secret to many, is some must see places to visit.
You will pass through a village called Church Knowle. The old converted farm house pub called The New Inn is worth a visit!
its food is highly recommended and the place is bursting with history. You will see signs to Kimmeridge Bay, Luworth Cove and Durdle Door, these are all worth visiting, offering great picturesque walks and sights. The abandoned village of Tyneham is discreetly tucked away, but please do visit.
Tyneham Village was evacuated in 1943 during WWII and has been deserted ever since.
Here I have just named a few of the wonderful places to explore in the purbecks.
There is plenty more places to visit and things to do.

Located in Wareham, this vacation home is in a rural area and by the sea. While the natural beauty of Durdle Door and Bournemouth Beach can be enjoyed by anyone, those looking for an activity can check out Poole Harbour.
Traveling with kids? Consider The Blue Pool and Tea House, or check out an event or a game at Purbeck Shooting School. Jet skiing and scuba diving offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking and horse riding nearby.
