Rigg is a quiet little village a stone’s throw away from the world famous Gretna Green. The location is ideal as it is only minutes from the main A75 and M6 so absolutely perfect for exploring the area. Gretna Green, one of the world’s most popular wedding destinations due to its romantic wedding traditions dating back to the 1700s. Possibly the most romantic village in the UK, it has become synonymous with romance and runaway couples. Marriage ceremonies are still performed over a blacksmith’s anvil and Gretna Green attracts thousands of couples from all around the world to be married each year. It is easy to overlook that there is more to this area than weddings. Ideally placed to not only explore Dumfries and Galloway it is also within easy reach of the Scottish Borders, Hadrian’s Wall, the fells of the Lake District National Park and much more.
