Outside there is private parking on a gravel driveway, a fishing shed with a fridge/freezer for bait and hooks for fishing poles, as well as a garden with lawn for your furry friend to play and a patio with a picnic bench so you can enjoy breakfast in the fresh country air. The small village of Canonbie has the lovely River Esk running through, take a short 15 minute walk to the local pub, The Cross Keys, and relax with refreshments. Langholm has shops for any self-catering essentials, pubs and takeaways for if you don't fancy an evening in the kitchen, and Castleholm Country Park which is a great spot for a picnic or a stroll with your dog. Dumfries offers some interesting attractions such as the 15th century Devorgilla Bridge which has scenic views of the River Nith, the house of Scottish poet, Robert Burns, which is now a historic attraction with exhibits, museums and the delightful Dock Park which has river views and a mini golf course. Lucy's Cottage is close to the English border meaning you can also explore The Lake District, Northumberland National Park or the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
