The Coop, known as a hideaway, is a beautiful and real home from home ground floor flat centrally located in the lovely little market town of Castle Douglas. This delightful and cosy property is elegantly decorated throughout from the stunning open plan living/dining/kitchen areas to the two bedrooms with co-ordinating furniture and sumptuous beds and bedding. The quality continues in the modern shower room. The Coop has a quiet little area outside the rear door with seating and the perfect place to enjoy a BBQ when the weather is fine and a further area laid to lawn at the bottom of the gardens.
The Coop is within a few minutes’ walk of a kids playpark just across the road and opposite the Coop is the main carpark for the town where you are welcome to park free of charge. Of course you are also only minutes from the main street of the town. Castle Douglas is known as the ‘Food Town’, you can enjoy a wander round this delightful small market town with an array of independent shops selling wonderful produce and quality gifts.
On your doorstep and only a short drive from The Coop is the glorious Solway coast with many fine sandy beaches, dramatic cliff-top walks, and wonderful coastal scenery. Fishing opportunities abound whether it be sea, coarse or game. There is a large choice of further outdoor activities in the area including bird watching, cycling, golf, hill walking, sailing, shooting, stalking, wildlife trails and woodland walks. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, there are many beautiful gardens to visit, including the National Trust’s Threave Gardens nearby. Castle Douglas is close to the Galloway Forest Park, home to the first Dark Sky Park in Europe, and central to five of the “7stanes”, mountain biking trails. The Coop welcomes you back after a day exploring the stunning scenery. Beach 12½ miles. Pub and restaurant 175 yards.

Located in Castle Douglas, this cottage is on a river. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Threave Garden and Lock Ken, while The Whitehouse Gallery and Stewartry Museum are cultural highlights. Galloway Activity Centre and Cally Gardens are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as fishing and other activities like golfing.
