While close to the well-stocked town of Gretna, the village itself only has a limited number of services, such as a restaurant and a few lodging options and bars. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the location is fantastic. On the other side of the River Esk, you'll find the gorgeous Solway Firth and the Solway Coast AONB, which will keep you busy. In addition to the attractive Scottish cities of Dumfries, Lockerbie, and Langholm, you may cross into England and discover the lovely county of Cumbria, which offers excellent locations like Carlisle and Brampton.

Located in Canonbie, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. Clan Armstrong Centre and The Devil's Porridge are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Thomas Carlyle's Birthplace and Tullie House Museum and Gallery.
