Sea Glass - A Lodge That Sleeps 4 Guests In 2 Bedrooms, Gatehouse Of Fleet

Dumfries and Galloway. Sleeps up to 4

Offering exclusive access to what can only be described as one of the best views in Dumfries and Galloway, Sea Glass is a locally designed and produced lodge which provides sumptuous accommodation for 4. Set on the hillside above the picturesque town of Gatehouse of Fleet, deep in the heart of Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, the lodge looks out across the verdant Galloway countryside, over Fleet Bay and towards Wigtownshire and the Isle of Man. When not glued to this panoramic vista, the accommodation itself is equally pleasing. Centrally located patio doors open up into a bright and modern open plan living room, kitchen and dining area, with 2 king size en-suite bedrooms to either side. The kitchen, which is chic and minimalist, is complemented by the adjoining dining area, which is completed with colourful accents in the crockery and soft furnishings. Zip n Link beds afford guests the choice of either 2 king size bedrooms or a 1 king and 1 twin, with both rooms looking out across the same fabulous view as the living area.

The surrounding area does not disappoint with plenty to do for all. Galloway Forest offers endless opportunities for active families with water sports, hiking, horse riding, fishing and clay pigeon shooting all available, not to mention the chance to see some of the darkest and clearest skies in Britain. For youngsters there is Cocoabean Chocolate Factory at Twynholm, where children can take part in chocolate making workshops or run off some steam in the indoor soft play or outdoor play area, Ernespie Farm Park at Castle Douglas where children can explore a full size retired combine harvester or tackle the ‘Cresta slide’, the Galloway Faery trail where children are encourage to solve clues and locate the faeries, or several sandy beaches where sandcastles can be built and rock pools explored. The area has a particularly rich history which is exhibited at sites such as Cairn Holy, 2 Neolithic chambered cairns local to the lodge, Cardoness and Maclellan Castles and Kirkcudbright Artist’s Town. It’s also a great location for sampling some of Galloway’s tastiest food and drink, with restaurants and cafes like Galloway Lodge (Gatehouse of Fleet) Gather (Laggan), Mr Pook’s Kitchen (Castle Douglas) and the Selkirk Arms (Kirkcudbright) on the doorstep, Cream o’ Galloway Farm (home to the ice cream!) and Sulwath Brewery close by and the Hills and Harbour Gin and Bladnoch Whisky Distilleries just a little further along the coast.
