Thomas Carlyle Cottage is nestled in the picturesque Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway countryside. Where we own 6 individual holiday cottages set around a lovely private court yard which have use of their own private indoor heated swimming pool and sauna. There are two bedrooms, one which is an upstairs open mezzanine with en-suite shower room, this bed can either be made up into a super king bed or twin beds. The second bedroom is downstairs and has twin beds with the bathroom situated beside. This cottage has beautiful views of the Nith valley which can be seen through patio doors leading out from the open plan lounge/dining room onto your own private HOT TUB on your own patio area with outdoor seating which is ideal for BBQ's Due to Covid 19 please supply your own BBQ. Perfect for any special occasion, including wedding anniversaries, birthday celebrations, Christmas, new year and any other special occasions as we are open all year round. There is a hall, open plan lounge/dining room, kitchen and bathroom with bath, shower over the bath, wash hand basin and toilet. The property includes use of a shared washing machine and tumble dryer for your own laundry facilities if you may require this during your stay. Due to Covid 19 the laundry facilities are closed until further notice.

This cottage is located in Thornhill. Ellisland Farm and Sanquhar Tolbooth Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Morton Castle and Morton Castle. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Dumfries Ice Bowl or Lockerbie Ice Rink.
