This charming family property has been completely modernised and refurbished in 2020 and is beautifully decorated throughout. Loch Doon Cottage offers a spacious, warm and welcoming environment from the moment you step in the door. The cosy living room has a recessed wood burner and a particularly attractive room is the large dining room, again with a lovely wood burner, perfect for those nights in enjoying a meal around the large dining table. The kitchen has everything you could need during your stay, with a door leading to the enclosed garden.
The Isle of Whithorn is an attractive little harbour village set on the Machars Peninsula, where you can explore the beautiful and exotic gardens, rocky coves and sandy beaches. The nearby historic village of Whithorn has a 12th century priory, museum and visitor centre. From your base at Loch Doon Cottage the harbour is only 500 yards away and the wider area is both tranquil and picturesque, offering the ideal location to explore the breathtaking scenery around the region. Close by is the Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park with 300 square miles of wild beauty just waiting to be explored. Awarded the status of only one of four Dark Sky Parks and a Unesco World Heritage Site, there is no better place to discover the sky at night! The area really does have something for everyone from walking, cycling, golfing and fishing to name but a few. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
