No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring. . This spacious detached farmhouse sits in a tranquil location, surrounded by rolling hills with views towards the sea. Set on a working sheep and beef farm, it is situated on Scotland’s most southerly point near the Mull of Galloway. There are four bedrooms, with one having a wonderful view of the Irish Sea, and one with a country view over the farmland. The coastline is 500m away and just stunning with clifftop walks direct from the door. There are sandy beaches, shingle, and rocky coves to explore and birdlife in abundance. The RSPB Mull of Galloway, with thousands of nesting birds, is close by and the visitor centre is worth a visit.
The area is very popular with walkers with the Southern Upland Way passing close by. The climbing routes at Crammag Head, 500m from the house, are detailed in a local book by John Biggar. There are many coastal villages to explore in the area. Drummore and Port Logan are traditional fishing villages with beautiful beaches and quaint harbours. Sandhead has a wonderful beach and the best pub in the area. Portpatrick close by has a lovely harbour, some arts and crafts outlets and good restaurants. The town of Stranraer is 20 miles and offers shops, restaurants, and pubs. Sea fishing is available from Port Logan, and horse-riding opportunities at Trevally, just 6 miles away.
For the historians amongst you, the local hill has archaeological merit with an old hill fort on top. The owner provides a map to show you how to get there from Slockmill (approx 1.5 hour circular walk). Visit Kirkmadrine Stones where there is evidence for early Christianity 500AD. Bring a telescope and watch the night sky in truly dark skies. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Cairnryan ferry terminal.

The Farmhouse is on a working farm with cattle and sheep. We welcome dog owners to our house, maximum 2 dogs, but a little care is required around the livestock. There is an enclosed garden which provided the gate remains closed they are safe to play.
