The living room is a joy whatever the weather with the cosy wood burner for those chillier evenings or open up the patio doors and enjoy an evening sitting on the covered veranda overlooking the estuary.
The luxurious accommodation continues upstairs where you can sink into a sumptuous bed or soak in one of the magnificent slipper baths after a day exploring the area.
Glencaple is a small village on the banks of the River Nith and surrounded on all sides by stunning scenery and is a popular holiday spot. The village boasts an award-winning restaurant and shop on the quayside which is only a stone’s throw away and offers a warm welcome with a cosy snug, stunning views and al fresco dining out on the terrace.
Erriff at Caerlaverock is part of the Caerlaverock Estate and within 5 minutes’ drive you can enjoy a day at Caerlaverock Wetland Centre, a spectacular 1400-acre wild reserve and a must is a visit to the historical Caerlaverock Castle.
This delightful corner of South West Scotland has so much to offer with many more interesting historical sites throughout the region, supreme mountain biking, to challenging hill walks and some of the darkest skies in the world, not to mention over 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded little bays and sandy beaches. Visit the county town of Dumfries with some high street shops, or the smaller towns of Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright have a variety of niche shops, art galleries and excellent restaurants.
