A south facing house with fantastic views across the Galloway country side. The large windows in the living area allow the sun to flood in summer and winter. The living area is open to the apex of the roof adding to the sense of space. A wood burning stove , and underfloor heating powered by an Air source heat pump mean that you will be cosy even on the coldest nights. There is a private patio with a large hot tub, ideal for relaxing and gazing at the stars. Challenge friends and family to a game of table tennis or pool in our adjacent games room. A large lawn will tire out the most energetic youngster. There is a paddock next to the garden where our friendly Shetland ponies Dragon Fly and Bumble Bee hang out, always on the lookout for a carrot ! Threave Gardens, Castle and estate walks are close by. The area has quiet roads to cycle on and hills to ramble on. We are well situated for visiting the main tourist places in Dumfries and Galloway. The market town of Castle Douglas is a 10 minute drive away and the artists town of Kircudbright (new Art Gallery opening early 2018) a 15 minute drive away. You'll be surprised how much the area has to offer.

Located in Castle Douglas, this vacation home is in a rural area. The Whitehouse Gallery and Stewartry Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Cally Gardens and Galloway Activity Centre. Water skiing and sailing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding and cycling nearby.
