The real gem however is the location and view itself, which not only offers an excellent level of privacy, but views over the estuary to the Criffel hill are breathtaking.
Gullsway is quietly set only a few hundred yards away from the small settlement of Glencaple in this beautiful corner of South West Scotland, and is situated on the banks of the River Nith, which once served as a port for the nearby county town of Dumfries. Take a stroll along the quiet road to enjoy a meal or a drink with a view at the local pub/restaurant. Gullsway is nestled within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only 3 miles from the majestic Caerlaverock Castle and Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve, which is home to the rare natterjack toad and regularly visited by barnacle geese and other migrating birds. This lovely property also makes an ideal base for exploring this glorious area either by car, bike or on foot, with excellent marked walks available for all abilities. There is salmon fishing on the River Nith and several golf courses in the area, including the championship course at Southerness only a short drive away. Drive part of the South West Coastal 300, a route which is roughly circular so you can start from wherever you please.
