Scrumpy Barn is a quirky barn conversion nestled on the owners’ cider farm, where there are also pigs, goats and sheep which can be seen on the land surrounding the cottage. Ideal for a couple or small family, this lovely property has a living room with cosy wood burner, kitchen/dining room, a double bedroom with delightful countryside views, a single bedroom and a shower room. Guests have use of a small enclosed garden with seating area, perfect for soaking up the sun during the warmer months.
The wonderful Ceredigion coastline is only 7 miles away, as well as the delightful harbour town of Aberaeron with its colourful houses and great selection of pubs, cafés and reputable restaurants. Locally caught fish and seafood are always on the menu, and a stay here wouldn’t be complete without sampling the famous honey ice cream too. There are delightful shops to browse and the whole town has a wonderful atmosphere, especially during the summer season when there are a variety of festivals and events to enjoy. A little further down the coast, the pretty town of New Quay clings to the rocks above the bay and from here you can enjoy a dolphin watching boat trip. The bottlenose dolphins can be seen almost daily from the harbour wall.
A 45-minute drive will bring you to Aberystwyth, where you can take a stroll along the promenade or ride the electric railway to the summit of Constitution Hill. Alternatively, take the steam train to Devil’s Bridge and Waterfalls. Whatever you do or wherever you go, Ceredigion offers a warm welcome and a host of attractions and history. Befitting of a county that dates back over 1600 years, every town has a tale to tell and each village has a mystery to discover. Beach 7 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
