Within the village you will find a good selection of shops for stocking up on essentials, a butcher, and a 13th-century church. Keen walkers and cyclists will delight at the close proximity of the scenic 870-mile Wales Coast Path, offering the very best sights and scenery, whilst those preferring a more leisurely walk can take the 6.5-mile circular walk from Llanon to Llanrhystud. Next stop is Aberaeron, where you will find a lovely, pebbled beach with breath-taking sea views, a picturesque harbour to watch the boats come in and an excellent selection of eateries, including The Stubborn Duckling and The Hive. Time your visit right to attend the annual Aberaron Carnival or the popular Aberaeron Festival of Welsh Ponies and Cobs, both of which take place in August. For golden sands, continue onto New Quay, where you can bathe with your favourite book, paddle the shores, or tuck-in to fresh fish and chips with the sand between your toes.
