Kennels Cottage is a luxury, dog-friendly 2-bedroom cottage on our smallholding in East Lothian. It is situated in rural beauty within easy reach of the seaside town of Dunbar and fabulous beaches.
Whilst we are not able to take pets in the Pods, we can in the Kennels!

The Pods are adult only, and Kennels Cottage welcomes children

BASS ROCK AND BELHAVEN BAY PODS
Our two glamping pods are well appointed luxury spaces situated in deliberately slightly wild gardens with stunning views weather permitting. Made in wood, they have underfloor heating ensuring a cosy warm space, a kitchenette, sitting/dining/sleeping areas - and an ensuite shower with flush toilet.

The living areas face out onto open countryside, with fantastic vistas over fields, hills, and the North Sea and Firth of Forth, including Bass Rock and the Isle of May. Outside is a patio area, a chimenea to sit around and keep warm whilst taking in one of the remarkable sunsets, and a BBQ.


"THE KENNELS" COTTAGE
The mid-Victorian era Kennels were renovated in the early 2020s, making them suitable for both humans and dogs. There are two bedrooms, one ensuite, as well as a kitchen/living room with a wood-burning stove. The underfloor heating keeps them cosy, like the Pods, and there are small garden areas to the front and sides, which were previously outside runs for the dogs. At some point, the Kennels were also a sheep pen - so in 2022 you would be amongst the first humans ever to occupy this building. EPC rating C.

The Pods and Kennels are about 150 metres apart (so a large family would be able to see each other easily, as well as having their own individual spaces), and there are walks into the lovely surrounding countryside immediately from the grounds.

We do have some home produce from our smallholding, which you are welcome to purchase when available - including eggs, pork, lamb, honey, and occasionally in-season vegetables.

This cottage is located in Dunbar. Dunbar Golf Club and John Muir Way - East are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore John Muir Country Park and Preston Mill & Phantassie Doocot Mill. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including golfing, birdwatching, and kayaking.
