Old Masters Cottage is a 5 star holiday cottage (see tripadvisor) which is steeped in history with the main part of the cottage dating back to the late 1800's next to the Old School House restaurant on the edge of the village. The cottage stands on the old boys school site and has many stories from the locals. The cottage has recently been subject to a substantial program of renovations and redecoration and is now a much loved and beautifully presented holiday home, which can sleep up to 8 very comfortably in 4 lovely bedrooms. The cottage also offers private off road parking and is further complimented by the quiet enclosed English cottage garden with patio area to garden room and built in BBQ.

Leven and the surrounding area welcomes you with a superb mix of facilities and entertainment during your stay. Be spoilt for choice with one restaurant and two local pubs one with its own restaurant, which have a fabulous reputation for food and offer delicious guest beers and hosts several beer festivals throughout the year. If you fancy adventuring a little further you will find Berts in Brandesburton on the Dacre Lakeside. Here you will sample first class pizzas, pastas and meat dishes with gorgeous views of the lake. Take a stroll in to the village to the well stocked village store or the popular butchers and bakery …Charters. Need a stamp or cash the Post Office is just located opposite the butchers. Or just fancy a quiet night in with no cooking then the village takeaway offers both Chinese and Italian options or just fish and chips. If you also need some pampering you can find a hair salon next door to the butchers or a beauty salon across the road.

Your arrival at Old Masters Cottage will begin with a complimentary mini hamper of delicious treats for you to enjoy during your stay. If you don't care for dining out our stunning kitchen offers you everything you need to prepare a snack to a gourmet meal.

In the dining/kitchen family room you will find our beautiful newly fitted kitchen with all the appliances you will need. This area you will find a small music system with docking area for you I phone or pod. This area benefits from a beautiful seating area around a brand new log-burning stove to toast your toes after a lovely long walk. An initial supply of logs and kindling is complimentary. We also have a table over looking the garden area which seats 8 with the option of use of the breakfast bar seating to make a comfortable ten.We have fully integrated appliances for your convenience, which include, a gas hob and range oven, dishwasher and American style fridge freezer. You will also find both a tumble dryer and washing machine in the utility area. We also have a built in wine cooler – who doesn't look forward to a chilled glass of something after a hard days sightseeing or walk!

The cottage boasts double doors from the kitchen dining area on to a small patio area. Her you will find a small table and chair complete with a parasol for Al Fresco dining. We can highly recommend the local butchers for the delicious steaks, homemade beef burgers and other delights.

In the lounge/snug area you will find a TV for you entertainment with FreeSat and Wi-Fi. For your entertainment.

Home from home, we will provide a small supply of dishwasher tablets, dishcloths, washing up liquid, washing machine detergent, kitchen hand soap, bin liners, foil and cling film.

The Master bedroom boasts a king size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and comfortable quilt covers. A wall mounted TV is available with Freesat. The master suite also has a stunning ensuite with walk in shower with drencher.

Bedroom Two has a double bed with a large sliderobe with hanging and shelf area with mirror.

Bedroom Three has solid wooden bunk beds with the option of a truckle bed for the 8th person (£25.00 per stay) with a wardrobe, drawers and bookshelf.

Bedroom Four has a lovely single bed and a large sideboard with deep drawers. The owners have a cupboard in this area, which is locked.

The bathroom has a stunning freestanding bath and a separate shower cubicle with a drencher and handheld shower. In addition we have a heated towel rail and high quality towels.

Old Masters Cottage provides complimentary WiFi throughout with under-floor heating in the hall and kitchen/dining area. Apologies but we have a strict no smoking and pet's policy.

This property is ideal for those who love having fun around the water with Brandesburton in the next village with its ponds lakes and fishing.

There is a diving school, Jet Ski's, kayaking, and canoes all just a few miles from your door. Visitors can also find several riding schools nearby, 18 hole gold course, pitch and putt and clay pigeon shootingJust a short drive leads to the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey with miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches, colourful promenades, inns and tea rooms in abundance, offering the perfect family day out.

Walking and cycling tracks surround the cottages and there is easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds - one of Yorkshire's best-kept secrets. Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit, where children will love the chance to search for fossils amongst the rock pools.
For stunning views, Flamborough Head is a must and visitors will delight in the puffin colonies that cling to the cliff side.

Old Masters Cottage is an ideal base for any of the Hull's City of Culture events just a 20 mins drive or on the bus route!

For an alternative day trip, York will not disappoint and meandering along the cobbled streets of 'The Shambles', packed with curio and antique shops, as well as many museums including The National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will keep both adults and children alike amused for hours.Explore British heritage when visiting stately homes and halls such as Burton Agnes Hall, or Sledmere Hall with its beautiful gardens only a 30-minute drive away.

The attractive market town of Beverley 12 miles away, where visitors can enjoy ancient cobbled streets, quaint shops and plenty of history.
