Pass your time sunbathing on the beach whilst admiring Frinton's Victorian multi-coloured beach huts lining the promenade or when the tide is in enjoy a picnic or play games on the beautiful, well-kept greensward above. Several sections of Frinton's beach are dog friendly and the gentle slope of the wide sandy beach provides safe bathing for children and adults alike. Frinton has a good selection of coffee shops and restaurants if you don't fancy cooking and there are gift shops and boutiques to browse and supermarkets to keep you well supplied. Frinton also boasts a coastal golf club and lawn tennis club which both welcome visitors. From Frinton-on-Sea you are well-placed for accessing a number of sites, including Walton-on-the-Naze which is close by and is a more typical seaside resort boasting arcades, Britain's second largest pier, a bowling alley and watersport activities. The Naze itself is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its fossil-rich cliffs and on the backwaters behind the Naze is Hamford Water National Nature Reserve, an internationally important wetland for birds. Frinton-on-Sea is host to a number of events throughout the year including the Frinton Literary Festival and the Frinton Summer Theatre, offering heaps of culture to this coastal treat.
