The recently-restored landmark of Hay Castle is also worth a visit whilst you’re in town. Brecon is a short drive to the west, where visitors can take a summertime stroll along the tranquil Brecon Canal Basin before quenching their thirst at the centrally-located Brecon Tap. Further afield in the opposite direction, you will find the cathedral city of Hereford, wherein lies the eponymous Hereford Cathedral, a gothic architectural marvel; the Black and White House Museum, or if you’re up for another drink, book onto a tour at the Museum of Cider.
