Glaslyn, Brecon

Brecon Beacons. Sleeps up to 12

Glaslyn is set in an absolutely stunning location with the most glorious panoramic View right across The Usk Valley. It is a "60's" architecturally designed house just outside the hamlet of Pennorth. With the large sun lounge at the front of the house it could be ideal for a Painting Group. The house has fairly extensive gardens with some unusual and interesting specimen plants and shrubs with lawn and a small orchard at the bottom of the garden. Above the house is a range of stables and a barn so for visitors wishing to bring their own horses this is ideal.

The house is also just off The Three Rivers Ride and The Allt Mountain with its ancient Iron Age fortress at the top and with a path/bridle way leading to the top is a few minutes away. The Allt was the inspiration for many of the poet Henry Vaughan's poems.

Footpaths lead in all directions from the house; one leads directly over the fields to Llangorse Lake. (15 minutes) The River Usk lies about half a mile from the house. It is a very quick drive to Brecon - 10 minues and there are plenty of good local places to eat.

Accommodation - Sleeps 12 in 6 Bedrooms

The great kitchen has a Range Master professional cooker with five ceramic hobs, double ovens and grill; dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, an additional fridge and ample work and storage space.

The house is accessed at the front by a flight of wooden steps and again wooden steps at the back lead out to the garden.

A very spacious dining area with a long socialiable dining table and chairs and views out for approximately 40 miles - so quite a view to dine to! The previous owner used to say "you can see over sixteen parishes from here". The sitting room part of this large room has three new brown leather comfy sofas set around a stove - the double doors open up to include the sun louge making this a large and warm space for a group. There is a large TV & DVD.

Again the sitting area has a different aspect again with stunning panoramic views down the River Usk Valley and over the river and onto The Allt, Mynydd Troed, the Talybont Valley with the reservoir glistening in the distance and over to Hay Bluff and far beyond. A pair of local Red Kite are often seen flying over the fields in front of the house and you can view the animals and wildlife in the neighbouring fields and beyond.

There is a Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and also a drying room for muddy boots and coats near the back door.
