Ash Cottage is one of our favourite cottages. This very pretty traditional stone cottage with roses around the door is set in the village of Llangynidr. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms and has been very carefully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished. The cosy sitting room has a fine woodburning stove set in the original great stone fireplace with an inglenook, bread oven and an oak lintel. A flight of original steep stone stairs wind up behind the fireplace. Relaxing here after a days walking or sightseeing is bliss with the flagstone floors, rugs and oak beams.
Just a few minutes walk down through the village brings a choice of two pub/restaurants both with childrens play areas, a village shop, the canal passing throught the village and the River Usk with its very narrow ancient stone bridge.
Close to Brecon, Abergavenny and Crickhowell, there is easy access over to The Welsh Valleys and Heads of the Valleys Road.
