Escape from it all at Dove Lodge, in Talybont on Usk. Surprisingly spacious and beautifully equipped, Dove is a luxurious canvas safari lodge which sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms - or two people in great comfort. There is a kitchen area, private shower room, hot tub and real beds. Dove is one of 3 canvas lodges at Gilestone Glamping. They're on a working farm in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, within an easy stroll of Talybont, a village with no fewer than 3 pubs, a village shop, a river, canal and reservoir. It's a major hub for cyclists, runners and canoeists as well as families and groups who simply want to enjoy the glorious Brecon Beacons.

Accommodation

Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms

Dove has everything you need for your holiday. There's your own wood-fired hot tub and a fire pit on which you can prepare your al fresco dinner on a fine day. The veranda has wonderful views across the valley. Inside, there's a kitchen equipped with all you will need for your stay - a 4-ring hob, toaster, coffee maker, vintage bone china and crystal cut glasses. There's piping hot water, a gas fired hob and a wood burning stove to keep you toasty whatever the weather.

There is a proper table and chairs and comfy seating for real relaxation. There isn't a TV, but there are playing cards, board games and a selection of books, as well as WiFi if you need it.

Beds: There's a Queen-sized four-poster bed and a twin room. The beds are splendidly comfortable, with Egyptian cotton linen and snug duvets.

Bathroom: a few metres from the lodge is your own self-contained "Pitch Pod" - which has a loo, hot shower and wash basin.

On the Farm

The owner, Charles, is happy for guests to roam the farm, and will provide tours by request. Children will love exploring and feeding the chickens. There's a fabulous wildlife pond in the next field on which guests can paddle around in the rowing boat, and even swim if they're brave enough.

Larger glamping groups can book Dove together with Buzzard and Goshawk, to sleep 18 in total. Very big groups can combine with Gilestone Farmhouse, to sleep 28 in total.
