Welshpool is slightly further afield, where you can explore the Llyn Coed y Dinas nature reserve, the National Trust-owned Powis Castle and why not take a ride on the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway to enjoy the picturesque rural scenery? The market town of Bishop's Castle rests on the fringes of the Shropshire Hills AONB, your gateway into the incredible countryside that offers many walking and cycling trails, with stand out routs including the moorland of Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd and the Offa's Dyke Path national trail. Enjoy riverside strolls along the nearby River Severn, and hop in a car towards the spectacular Snowdonia National Park, or the lovely beaches along the coast of West Wales around Cardigan Bay.
