Unwind in this beautiful Cotswold stone lodge located at the end of a long farm track in the grounds of our main barn house. Peaceful yet three miles from the bustling market town of Cirencester this is the perfect retreat. The architect-designed property, shortlisted for the Cotswold Design Awards House of the Year, was lovingly completed in 2022 using the best materials and fittings to cater to your every need. Your generous south-facing private terrace affords long views to mature trees.
The space
The 520 sq feet open plan living space is flooded with light from the south-facing window and door. The beautiful stone floor is gently warmed by underfloor heating and achieving Passive House efficiency, rest assured you will never be cold.
With the luxurious king-size Hypnos bed, by Royal Warrant, topped with a ridiculously comfortable 1400 spring pillow top mattress and 5* silky cotton sheets you will sleep your best sleep with nothing but birdsong to disturb you. There is plenty of space for bags and clothes in the cupboards built by our local carpenter. In the bathroom, there is a large wet room-style shower as well as lots of room for toiletries on top of and under the hand-crafted granite-topped washstand. No more fumbling for cosmetics in wash bags you can't unpack!
The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, smart oven, microwave, and every utensil and cookware you will need to make cosy suppers in. The dining table is plenty big enough for romantic meals and of course, there are Cotswold pubs should you prefer to dine out. Ewen's infamous Wild Duck Inn is soon set to re-open its doors after an extensive refurbishment programme.
A comfortable sofa in the cosy living area is the perfect place to watch TV with Chromecast (stream any channel you like from your phone - YouTube, Netflix, iPlayer, Amazon Prime etc), alternatively if the bed is just too lovely and inviting, why not prop up the pillows and watch from there.
The property is fitted with a heat recovery ventilation system to ensure a constant supply of fresh filtered air 24/7. The system also monitors and manages humidity to ensure a perfect balance at all times.
Guest access
Turning off the country road in Ewen you will enter the automated gate using your personal code and 150m down our private field edge lane you will find The Lodge.
There is ample car parking space next to The Lodge with good-level access. Kemble train station is one mile away with a direct line to London Paddington in 1 hour and 10 mins (fast train). The market town of Cirencester is a short 5-minute drive away.
