On the edge of the National Trust owned Minchinhampton common, the area offers a plethora of walks and open space. On those evenings when you don’t feel like cooking, head over to the on site Amberley Inn, an historical landmark where you can enjoy tasty dishes, fine wines and local ales as well as enjoy a 10% discount off all food purchased. If you can tear yourself away from your pretty surroundings, wander into the local village with its stunning views across the five valleys as well as home to one of the oldest links courses in England, Minchinhampton Old Golf Course. For a wider selection of amenities, head down to the town of Nailsworth with its many independent shops and renowned restaurants. Alternatively visit Woodchester Valley wines for a preorganised tour of the vineyard and sample their award-winning wines. Continue into Stroud, the home every Saturday to one of the largest Farmers Markets in the UK FROM 8-2PM. Also nearby is the traditional Cotswold town of Cirencester as well as Tetbury the home of HRH Price of Wales, and a truly beautiful bustling Cotswold market town. There is so much to do and see locally the Garden Cottage makes a great base for exploring the area.
