Lady Jane Grey Cottage is one of Sudeley Castle’s largest country cottages, and is named after Lady Jane Grey who lived at Sudeley Castle before her brief nine-day reign as Queen of England. This lovely cottage was originally part of a paper mill, which was restored to make two cottages and two apartments, preserving the original exposed walls and beams throughout.
This two-storey cottage has a large open plan living area on the ground floor which is split across two levels. The well-equipped kitchen is incredibly spacious and there is a desk area to catch up on work or browse your laptop to find where you'd like to spend your next day in the Cotswolds. The slightly separated sitting and dining area have plenty of space to dine together around the table or lounge in front of TV in the evenings. Two doors at the end open out into the gravelled courtyard enlarging your living space to include this handy outdoor area. Each bedroom has been well furnished with comfortable beds and storage space and the open walls throughout remind you of the history of this building. The more modern family bathroom combines these exposed walls with olive panelling and a wood effect floor.
The Sudeley Cottages are set a short walk from both the village of Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle which you must visit during your stay. Further afield Cotswold highlights including Cheltenham, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water are a lovely day out.
