The Piggery, Lydney

Gloucestershire. Sleeps up to 5

The Piggery is in every sense unique - not just by name! Hidden off a narrow lane, this old barn which once housed (you guessed it!) pigs, has been transformed into a welcoming and cosy holiday home that enjoys the most breathtaking views across rolling Gloucestershire countryside down towards the River Severn. The owners are wonderful hosts taking, providing seasonal flowers and tasty sponge cake for your arrival, and happily give tips on what to do nearby - naturally you could do nothing other than sit inside or out and take in the amazing views - as the pictures don't do it justice! The gardens that surround you are packed with cottage style plants, and the 'Viginia Creeper' that cloaks the barn and changes almost daily simply beautiful. Inside, lights floods in through large windows in all rooms, all a good sized rooms and all furnished traditionally as befits the building and location. Although you're set in a large meadow, civilization is down the lane, with a good pub about 800 yards away and a small shop too. This is a special and traditional holiday home, worth the journey and the hunt to find it as once you arrive and see the view you'll relax immediately. We love it.The accommodation is all on one level which means that it is suitable for those with limited mobility.
