The large master bedroom has a superbly comfortable Hypnos kingsize bed and full length windows make the most of the stunning views over Spring Lake. The twin bedroom, also with some views over the sailing lake has a comfortable full size single bed with another 3’ single stored underneath which pulls out to the same height. The room is versatile and can be set up as a large single or cosy twin or double bedroom (walking space is limited when both beds are set up). Pets:

We understand how hard it is to leave those canine friends behind when grabbing short breaks away in the country and so we are pleased to welcome you with your pet. The lodge is perfectly located for dog owners with plenty of pathways and open countryside right on the doorstep. The Cotswolds offer a very dog friendly environment, ideal for enjoying quality time with all the family without having to leave your pet at home.

Please note, however, that the lodge is semi-detached and, therefore, would not be suitable if it is likely that your dog’s barking may disturb the neighbours. Should this become a problem during your stay we do have to reserve the right to ask you to remove your dog for the remainder of your stay. Please also be aware that pets are strictly not permitted upstairs. If your pet needs to be with you at night I am afraid our lodge will not be suitable for you to book.

Please let us know when booking if you will be bringing a pet and its size and breed and we will confirm the amount of the separate and additional refundable pet security deposit to be paid (see the indicative price range below) The pet security deposit will be used to make good any damage caused specifically by your pet. An additional £25 cleaning fee will also be charged to cover pet specific laundry and the deep clean we carry out after every stay including a pet. We prefer to limit bookings to one pet only but please talk to us if you would like to bring more than one.

Our lodge provides a secure deck area to keep your pet safe; a stair gate which must be kept closed at all times; dedicated dog towels and an outside tap/hose to clean off after those great walks.

Our lodge is furnished to a high standard and our primary aim is to provide good quality, comfortable accommodation for all of our guests. In order to achieve this we ask any guests bringing pets to use the throws provided to protect the furnishings in the lounge area.

We also ask that you avoid leaving your dog in the lodge alone unless using a dog cage and you are confident the dog will remain quiet and settled.

A reminder that pets are strictly not allowed upstairs and the bottom stair gate must be kept closed at all times. Please be aware that failure to comply with this particular house rule will result in your pet security deposit not being returned to you.

Changeovers:

Changeover days are flexible and the minimum booking is normally 2 nights ( Sorry but we can only offer 3 night minimum stays to guests bringing pets)

Arrival time is after 4.00pm and departure time by 11.00am (unless agreed otherwise with the owner). We are happy to arrange an earlier check in or later check out, usually, at no extra charge, dependent on other guest bookings. We are unable to accept same day bookings as our cleaning team require at least 24 hours to prepare the lodge and comply with enhanced Covid 19 cleaning standards.

Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night.

A £200 refundable security deposit is required with each booking. A separate and additional £90 - £120 pet security deposit is required depending on size/number of pets

Sorry, no stag or hen groups are permitted on Spring Lake.

Electric heating is included in the rental price.

A small quantity of initial consumables is provided (eg. coffee, tea, milk, sugar, soap, toilet rolls, cleaning products) for when you arrive. However please note these are not intended to last the length of your stay.

No smoking is permitted in the lodge or on the decks.

Accessibility:

Please note there are 4 steps up to the lodge entrance at the front and likewise to the deck at the back plus stairs inside to the first floor. These may present difficulties for guests with limited mobility.

The smoke detectors operate on sound only and those guests with serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm and could be at risk.

Please also note the lake’s edge is unfenced and is very close to the lodge. Whilst the deck is securely gated, young children and vulnerable pets must be supervised at all times beyond the deck to ensure they remain safe.

How to get there:

By car (recommended):

From M4 or the South - Leave the M4 at Junction 15 (Swindon) and head North on the A419 for about 14 miles. Take the B4696 signposted Ashton Keynes / South Cerney / Cerney wick. Take the first left at the roundabout onto the Spine Road East. Follow this for just over half a mile, passing Isis / Windrush Lakes on your right and the De Vere Hotel on your left. After passing Summer Lake on your left, take the next right (Station Road), signposted for South Cerney and the Lakeside Brasserie. Take the first left into Spring Lake turning right when through the gates. Follow the road around and 57 Spring Lake is shortly after you pass the slipway.

From the M5 or North – Leave the M5 southbound at junction 11A onto the A417. Take the third exit at the roundabout after a few miles continuing on the A417. Stay on the A417 / A419 for 15 miles passing Cirencester. Leave the A419 following signs for South Cerney and the Cotswold Water Park. Head right over the flyover and straight on at the second roundabout following signs for the Watermark and Cotswold Water Park. Follow the road (Spine Road East) as above.

Getting around:

A car or bicycles and walking are recommended to explore this beautiful area but there are also plenty of public transport links:

Airports: Bristol is closest at 45 miles but Birmingham at 78 miles has good train services to Kemble. Alternatively all the London airports are approximately 90-100 miles away with good rail links to Kemble or Swindon.

Railway: Kemble: 4 miles (approximately £12 one-way taxi fare), Swindon: 11 miles (with good value station based taxis available for around £18 one-way)

Bus: The number 51 stage coach bus usually operates hourly between Swindon and Cheltenham, stopping at Cricklade and Cirencester as well as South Cerney village and many other villages enroute. Fares are very inexpensive and bus stops are convenient.

Located in Cirencester, this vacation home is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Corinium Museum and Bristol Aero Collectlon are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Thames Path and Cirencester Golf Club. Traveling with kids? Consider Lakeside Ski & Wake and Combat Splat. Jet skiing and water skiing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking and ecotours nearby.
