You will be well served by foot within the village of Whitecroft with two local village inns and a village store, perfect for morning papers and a fresh loaf of bread. For walkers wanting to leave the car behind, from the doorstep you can wander for miles along the forest tracks enjoying the rich forest and wildlife. The vintage steam railway is a stones throw and during the summer and autumn you can watch it chug past with all the nostalgia the sight of a steam train brings. For the historians, why not step back into forest history at The Dean Heritage Centre, the Hopewell Colliery and Clearwell Caves; and for family fun, why not visit Perrygrove Railways, Puzzlewood and Go Ape! If you find time to explore a little further afield, Symonds Yat is great for rock climbing, river walks, kayaking and caving. The property is set over three floors.
