Stanley Cottage is a lovely Grade ll listed Cotswold stone cottage, sitting idyllically in the heart of the picturesque market town of Chipping Campden. The cottage has been lovingly refurbished by its owners, in a stunning, contemporary style, and is perfect for families or couples seeking a relaxing break in the Cotswolds. Step up to the welcoming abode by taking the three stone steps that sit outside the front door, that is surrounded by climbing greenery, and straight into the sitting room, boasting stylish décor, complimented by character features including striking oak beams and a large inglenook fireplace with a warming woodburning stove; the perfect space to sink into the sofas and catch up on your favourite TV show or relax at the window seat with a compelling novel, enjoying the heat from the woodburning stove. Moving through the property you will come to the thoughtfully laid-out kitchen/diner, where you can utilise the contemporary facilities such as the Rangemaster oven to prepare heart-warming dishes and gather with your loved ones at the large dining table and uncork a bottle of wine to toast to your wonderful vacation ahead. Take the conversation outside through the French doors, where you will find the lovely enclosed garden with a patio area housing a table set and barbecue – perfect for summer! - and stone steps leading you up to the beautiful shrub filled garden, centred by a stone pathway guiding you through. When the sun has set, retreat inside and climb upstairs and unwind in the walk-in shower, before choosing from one of the two bedrooms that house the first floor; the master is a lovely spacious room where you will find a sumptuous king-size bed, containing beautiful oak beams, an ornamental fireplace and a roll-top bath where you can indulge amongst the bubbles after a long day of exploring or take in the lovely views of the historic St James’ Church out of the window, the other bedroom overlooks the garden below and is perfect for a child as it contains a single bed. A steep, winding wooden staircase leads you up to the second floor where you will find a king-size bedroom, with fabulous views of St James’ Church from the window and a shower room. In the morning, make yourself a steaming cup of coffee using the Nespresso coffee machine, before getting ready for the day and heading out into Chipping Campden; enjoy a delicious breakfast at Campden Coffee Co before heading over to Dover’s Hill to enjoy the stunning views over the Vale of Evesham where you can join the Cotswold Way, which is a 100 mile walking trail, taking you through picturesque villages, breath-taking countryside and famous ancient sites and if you start in Chipping Campden, walk to the next stop which is Broadway and have an enjoyable meal at The Swan. Train enthusiasts will be delighted with the light railway of Evesham Vale Light Railway, which operates in nearby Evesham Country Park and covers a mile through the park, including a lengthy section through the fruit orchards, take a picnic with you and enjoy it at the midway point and catch a later train back. Immerse yourself in nature at Cotswold Falconry Centre, in Batsford, which houses over 130 birds of 60 different species, where there are flying displays, aviaries and critically endangered birds, an educational and fun day out for all. For an unforgettable holiday, make Stanley Cottage your base.
